Day 29: Goals for the next 30 days
Alright, so since I’m writing this all out, there’s no way around it: I gotta do them all!
-Job hunting—preferably I’d like to be past the job-hunting phase by the end of the 30 day period
-Run run run! Biking a few times a week still, but mostly run. My foot should be fine by now :]
-Spend my Flexi. Seriously, I still have to spend LAST semester’s money!
-Do...
Ashton Kutcher, No Strings Attached →
katchingles:
kaethekealoha:
annaaamaayorrr:
I was shooting a scene in my new film, No Strings Attached, in which I say to Natalie Portman,
“If you miss me. you can’t text, you can’t email, you can’t post it on my Facebook wall. If you really miss me, you come and see me.”
I began to think of all of the billions of intimate exchanges sent daily via fingers and screens, bouncing between...
Day 28: Something you miss
I miss being in really good shape, not gonna lie. lol. I don’t know if I’ll ever get there again, but that would be really nice if I did. It would be miraculous if I got even better than how I was! But I’m not going to complain—I’m just glad I can still get up and move around and be young. That’s always something to be thankful for.
Day 27: A problem that you have had
I absolutely hate it when I get irritated at people for no reason. They don’t deserve to be treated that way, and I don’t have the right to lose patience with those who didn’t do anything wrong.
If I’ve ever done this to you, I’m sorry. :/
Day 26: What kind of person attracts you
I’m so big on people that can strike up a conversation about anything. I love people that are genuine and thoughtful, witty and quirky, clever and honest. People who are close to God; people who stand up for what they believe in; people who prioritize making time for their family; people who bring out the best in everyone they meet. I love a good sense of humor. People who give those...
Day 25: Someone who fascinates you and why
Honestly, it would have to be my little brother Jaggy. I’m always curious about what he’s thinking and why he reacts differently to certain things. Like for instance, he had this phase when he was scared to death of grass and flowers. As in he’ll cling on to you for dear life if he goes within a foot of a patch of grass and won’t move unless you carry him lol. But...
Day 24: Your favorite movie and what's it about
I’m not really sure I have a favorite movie. I’ll just name one: “Life is Beautiful.” It’s an Italian movie set in WWII—it pretty much reminds me of just how lucky we are to be living. The dad is such a good example of how a positive attitude can help even the most terrible circumstances bearable. I highly recommend it.
Day 23: Give pictures of 5 famous guys you find...
Sorry guys, school has been taking over! So I’m playing catch up right now. I’m not really a huge fan of celebrity guys, so I don’t have five pictures.
…but I do have three. LOL.
Iker Casillas. Real Madrid/Spanish National Team goal keeper and captain. Apparently he recently got appointed to be an ambassador for the UN Development Program. And he’s got...
Sheldon: What is the best number? By the way, there's only one correct answer.
Raj: 5,318,008?
Sheldon: Wrong! The best number is 73. [Short silence] You're probably wondering why.
Leonard & Howard: No no, we're good.
Sheldon: 73, is the 21st prime number, it's mirror 37 is the 12th and it's mirror 21 is the product of multiplying, hang on to your hats, 7 and 3. Did I lie?
Leonard: We did it! 73 is the... Chuck Norris of numbers!
Sheldon: Chuck Norris wishes! In binary, 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001, exactly the same. All Chuck Norris gets you backwards is Sirron Kcuhc!
Raj: Just for the record, when you enter 5,318,008 in a calculator, upside down it spells BOOBIES!
School tomorrow.
Oh man, I got way too used to turning my mind off from all things academic, and now here I am trying to accept the fact that tomorrow, that’s all going to change.
But you know what? I’m excited for the change. Bring it on, Spring semester—just please try not to kill me too soon.
Day 22: How have you changed in the past two...
Oh man, I don’t even know. I mean I think I haven’t changed much as far as personality or moral standing. But I’d like to think that as far as understanding people and ideas, I’ve grown. Obviously I still have a lot of work to do, but I like where I am right now and where I’m going (even though I’m not entirely sure where that is).
And oh yeah, obviously...
Day 21: Your Favorite TV show
(This was for yesterday.)
I’m not sure. I don’t watch as much TV as much as I used to. I still love old shows like Full House and Fresh Prince, but I really like stuff like The Dr. Oz Show, Big Bang Theory, and sometimes even the news! Sometimes.
Day 20: How important you think education is
I think education is so important and so easily taken for granted here. When I went back to the Philippines, I was reminded of just how seriously people take education there—not because they wanted to be the most important and influential person out there, but because they wanted so much to get out of poverty. They wanted to give back to their parents for everything they’ve done....
Day 19: Disrespecting your parents
I have to say, this is one of my biggest pet peeves ever.
I realize that not everyone comes from such great families, where the parents aren’t exactly great role models. But come on, at least show some sort of respect. What really irks me is when the parents are so nice to their children and give them everything they want, but the kids still treat them as if they’re the biggest...
Day 18: Your beliefs
I believe:
In God. In miracles. That things happen for a reason. That everyone is inherently good. That the love of family and friends is reason enough to live. In the healing power of laughter and music. In individuality. In respect. In meaningful conversations. That learning is fun. That the right amount of confidence is more attractive than physical attributes. That success can only...
Day 17: Your highs and lows of this past year
Highs:
-13:58 two-mile. Hey man, that may not be incredible, but I sprinted those last 100 meters like my life depended on it. I don’t think I’ve wanted to pass out more. The look on Mr. Mann’s face when he realized I broke 14 minutes. Priceless.
-The end of AP tests = senioritis at its finest. Because the teachers actually allowed it.
-The climactic end to my senior...
Day 16: Your views on mainstream music
I actually was talking to Gilbert about this today, and Ariane the other day lol.
I took a class called Studies in Popular Music, and what irritated me more than anything is that more than half of the students in there were completely against mainstream popular music. They thought it was too watered-down and basically, not “real” music. I can somewhat agree to the watered-down...
satanophim asked: oh hai! Jill! I have a tumblr too :) hahah
Day 15: Your favorite tumblrs
Mmmm anything with substance, Harry Potter, or dry humor. Of course, you really can’t go wrong with whenparentstext.
Day 14: Your first memory
Shoot. This was supposed to be for yesterday too lol.
Well my first memory is simple: me pretending to sleep, and my dad carrying me around the house saying, “Oh, she’s asleep! She’s asleep! I guess I can just toss her in the washing machine!” And then I’d suddenly wake up screaming, “NO NO NO! I’M AWAKE, I’M AWAKE!” and cling on to my...
Day 13: Somewhere you'd like to move or visit
Sorry I didn’t write yesterday, but here’s a catch-up!
I’d rather stay in California, but here are some places I wanna go:
-Spain, Spain, Spain. Watch a soccer game, speak Spanish with a lisp, and just bask in everything Spanish.
-London/The English countryside. When the London traffic gets irritating, I’ll go to the countryside and watch people play croquet and polo....

YESSSS !
@Arisa. Except your reaction’s more like LKDJFA;LDSJF;KSDKJFASDWTFCREEPER. hahaha.
Day 12: Bullet your whole day
I’ll bullet through a Thursday during school and a Thursday during break. Except there aren’t any bullets.
School Thursday:
7:10 am - Alarms go off. Snooze buttons pressed.
7:30 am - Finally get off bed to shower, brush my teeth, and change. Take advantage of the ten minutes between 8 and 8:10 to grab a bagel or fruit bowl to devour and somehow finish before I step foot in lab.
...
Day 11: Put your iPod on shuffle and write 10...
I’ll use iTunes since I don’t have an iPod hahahaha.
1. Love like This - Natasha Bedingfield ft. Sean Kingston
2. Paper Doll - The Mills Brothers
3. It’s Love - Chris Knox
4. Back in the USSR - The Beatles
5. Kickstarts - Example
6. Headlights on Dark Roads - Snow Patrol
7. Mercy - OneRepublic
8. Bruises - Chairlift
9. Whisper - Ernie Halter
10. If...
faineemae:
Dear Twilight, I’m sorry, I can’t hear you over my amusement park. Sincerely, Harry Potter
*trying to hold back laughter* bahahaha sorry I couldn’t.
Day 10: Discuss your first love and first kiss.
Bahahaha.
Updates from a girl who was lost and found.
I witnessed a miracle today. It was by no means the kind of miracle where heaven’s lights shone down on me with a choir of angels singing in the background and the economy got better and cancer was suddenly wiped out from the face of the Earth—nothing of the sort.
I unexpectedly ran into a friend whom I haven’t spoken to in months. And she listened to me, as if I’ve...
Day 9: How you hope your future will be like
For practical reasons, I’d want to of course have a nice, stable family, live in a good neighborhood in a decent house with running water and a working heater/AC, be financially sound (whatever that means), and have a stable job that makes me look forward to waking up in the morning.
On a more idealistic perspective, I just want to be happy. Find a balance between work and play.
Updates from a lost girl.
(For the record, I’m not literally lost: I’m still updating from a Modesto bedroom.)
Here’s the thing. This may sound extremely childish to you, but I was about to cry in church tonight: I realized I couldn’t find that same kind of prayerful atmosphere at USF. I miss going to church, knowing that people dress up out of reverence, not out of convenience to how much they...
Day 8: A moment you felt the most satisfied with...
I can’t exactly remember any particular moment off the top of my head, but when I’m in Adoration, that’s when I feel the most content. Things could be falling apart—I could be falling apart—but those are the hours I feel the most loved. Genuinely loved.
And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power,...
– Ephesians 3:17-19 (via ninaatta)
Day 7: Your Zodiac sign and if you think it fits...
According to Wikipedia:
“In astrology, Libra is considered a “masculine”, positive (extrovert) sign…The symbol for Libra is the Scales, making it the only zodiac sign of which the symbol is not a living creature. In Roman mythology, Libra is considered to depict the scales held by Astraea (identified as Virgo), the goddess of justice.”
Hmm. Interesting. While I...
Day 6: 30 Facts About Yourself
Mariah slept over my house yesterday, so I couldn’t really write for my 30-day challenge. Catch up time! (This is going to be really long—I apologize in advance for bombarding your dashboards.)
1. I like learning new things. Nerdy things. Like the things you learn on the History Channel (not the History Channel with the weird shows about how monster trucks work or something,...
